MARGATE - Sustainable Downbeach, a collaboration of the Downbeach community green teams, will present a free educational program 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 29 at the Bloom Pavilion on Huntington Avenue.
The event is free and residents are encouraged to attend.
The program is being presented by March Lenahan, a NJ Master Naturalist and wildlife rescuer at Wild at Heart Bird Rescue.
Attendees will learn about the Monarch butterfly, its epic migration along the Eastern U.S. each fall. Learn about how to encourage the monarch population which is dwindling due to climate change and lack of natural resources.
Participants will be able to take home a free milkweed plant, which is the host plant for the beautiful orange and black butterflies.
