An Atlantic City man and woman were arrested Wednesday in the killing of a man found fatally shot Sunday night on the overpass to Atlantic City High School.
William A. Tucker, 52, is charged with murder and various weapons offenses in the death of Vaughn Lyons, who was found lying facedown in the area of 1400 N. Albany Ave., on the Route 40 overpass.
Tucker also faces various drug charges.
A woman is accused of hindering Tucker's arrest.
Sabrina Hearns Evans, 30, additionally faces drug charges.
Their relationship was not clear.
Lyons, known as Bill to many, was found by a motorist, who called 911 at about 11:20 p.m. Sunday.
He had several gunshot wounds, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Tucker and Hearns Evans were arrested on warrants, but have not yet been listed in the Atlantic County Justice Facility. It was not clear when they would have their first appearances in central judicial processing.
Both will then be held pending detention hearings.
The Prosecutor's Office’s Major Crimes Unit and the Atlantic City Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit are investigating the killing.
