ATLANTIC CITY - South Jersey Players and its cultural partner, Players and Playwrights by the Jersey Shore, are merging for a weekend of play readings and a play with a buffet dinner and cash bar.
The event is being hosted by Stockton’s Center on Successful Aging in the Fannie Lou Hamer Event Room at the John F. Scarpa Academic Center on Stockton University’s Atlantic City campus, 3711 Atlantic Ave.
Showtimes are 5:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, and 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15.
Players and Playwrights perform at Stockton AC.Tickets are $35 and include a buffet-style artisan sandwich board with four choices, including roasted veggie, chicken, Italian or roast beef. Caesar salad, chips, pasta salad, lemonade or iced tea and dessert are included. There will also be a beer and wine cash bar.
Ample parking is available.
Following the dinner, Players and Playwrights will present five lighthearted play readings, written and acted by their members. South Jersey Players will present one fully-staged comedy, written by P&P playwright Debra Share and acted by SJP company members. There will be a brief talk-back after the show.
