The Longport Volunteer Fire Department has three new members: Nicholas Bimbo, William DiLorenzo and Harrison Gillman, who competed the Fire Fighter 1 course at the Atlantic County Fire Academy.
Their training over five months lasted more than 200 hours and included evolutions in the use of the self contained breathing apparatus, hose and ladders, fire attack, hazardous materials awareness and poerations, and many others areas of fire fighting.
Bimbo and DiLorenzo, both graduates of Ocean City High School, started in the Fire Department last year as junior members, where they started learning about the tools and equipment used for both firefighting and emergency medical calls.
"We wish them the best of luck as they start their careers with the Longport Volunteer Fire Department and future endeavors," Clayton said.
