ATLANTIC CITY — Visit Atlantic City and local mozzarella manufacturer, MAD MUTZ, have teamed up to help "feed" the creativity of the next generation of DJs. In a collaboration sponsoring two teen members from the Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City to attend the highly anticipated nXt@DJX Summer Camp, celebrating its 35th anniversary taking place at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City Aug.11-13.
Visit Atlantic City and MAD MUTZ will support two teens from the Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City Music Production Program providing them with the opportunity to explore the art of DJing through state-of-the-art technology and expert mentorship. The sponsorship not only gives local youth a platform to develop valuable music and life skills, but also shines a spotlight on the community’s dedication to nurturing talent and fostering future careers in the music industry. The Boys & Girls Club Music Production Program gives youth ages 13–18 a hands-on experience in music creation, recording and studio operations.
“Atlantic City has always been a destination for world-class entertainment,” Visit Atlantic City CEO Gary Musich said. “Now, we’re helping shape the next generation of performers right here in our own backyard. We’re proud to support programs that uplift our youth and connect them with transformative opportunities.”
The nXt DJ Summer Camp, led by renowned DJ and educator Coach Hapa, offers students ages 7–20 hands-on instruction from industry pros who have performed with the likes of Michael Jackson, Drake, and Earth Wind & Fire. The selected teens will participate in a professional level DJ and music production program designed to build their skills in mixing, beat-matching and live performance techniques. They will also receive guidance on navigating the music industry and promoting their unique sound in today’s digital landscape. The program goes beyond mixing and beat-matching, it instills leadership, confidence, and teamwork, encouraging participants to become creative forces in their communities.
"MAD MUTZ is thrilled to sponsor this endeavor with Visit Atlantic City. As our cheesy business grows in Atlantic City, we want to help ‘feed’ creativity in any way possible, especially when given the opportunity to help the Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City and encourage local teens to follow their dreams towards a career in the music industry,” MAD MUTZ Co-owner Michael Burns said.
"Creativity within any industry is crucial for the inception of new ideas," Co-owner and Tony Boloney's owner Michael Hauke added. "The culinary industry, just like the music industry, needs to continue to foster innovation and invention. This is why MAD MUTZ is 100% on board with assisting local teens so that they can gain access to nXT DJ Camp to tap into some of the best talent in the business.”
Together, Visit Atlantic City and MAD MUTZ are helping Atlantic City’s youth take the next step in turning their musical dreams into reality, one beat at a time.
