The family of an Egg Harbor Township man killed in a work accident on the Atlantic City Expressway are asking for help with his send off.
Dominick Tarsitano was working at a shoulder closure on the expressway Friday morning around milepost 36.6 eastbound when he was struck and killed.
The South Jersey Transportation Authority confirmed the accident involved one of their subcontractors, but did not confirm the death.
But several sources confirmed to BreakingAC that Tarsitano died at the scene.
State Police, who are investigating, have not responded to numerous requests for information. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration also is investigating, a U.S. Department of Labor spokeswoman confirmed to BreakingAC. She did not have any details about the crash.
"There are no words to describe the pain and heartbreak our family is experiencing," the GoFundMe says. "Dominic was more than just a son, grandson, brother, cousin, and friend — he was the glue that held us all together."
The page describes his big heart and how "his laughter, warmth, and kind soul left a mark on everyone who knew him."
"We are completely devastated by his sudden and unimaginable loss," it continues. "As we navigate this overwhelming grief, we are reaching out for support to help cover funeral expenses and to honor Dominic’s memory in the way he truly deserves."
