ATLANTIC CITY – The Miss New Jersey Education Foundation has announced that preliminary and final competitions for the Miss New Jersey crown will be held Thursday through Saturday, June 12-14 at Resorts Superstar Theatre. All evening events begin promptly at 8 p.m. An after party will be held following the final at 11:30 p.m. Saturday, June 14.
The road to Miss American provides women with a unique opportunity to demonstrate the four points of the Miss America crown - “Style, Service, Scholarship and Success.” Participants in state competitions acquire lifelong skills while earning scholarships, meet other like-minded women, cultivate their own personal style and engage within their communities. Many go on to become neurosurgeons, social activist, military pilots, investigative journalists, expert coders or whatever she is created to be – beautiful, smart, principled and passionate about changing the world.
The winner of the Miss New Jersey crown will represent the State of New Jersey in the national Miss America Competition.
This year’s judges include internationally acclaimed tenor Christopher Macchio, former TV news anchor turned publicist Mindie Barnett, Visit Atlantic City President and CEO Larry Sieg, former contestant and Stockton University Executive Vice President and Chief of Staff Dr. Terricita Sass, Atlantic City Electric Senior Government and External Affairs Manager and founder of the Hispanic Association of Atlantic County Bert Lopez, Executive Director of the Miss New York competition Linda Carbo, and Miss Nebraska 1990 and 35-year Miss America volunteer Michelle McCormick.
