VENTNOR - A vehicle crashed into the plate glass window at AAAA Bike Shop, 5300 Ventnor Ave., Tuesday morning, rendering the building unsafe for business.
According to Capt. David Gaeckle, police responded to a 911 call at 9:06 a.m. to find a vehicle crashed into the Little Rock Avenue side of the building.
When officers arrived, they discovered a 2019 black Toyota Highlander had crashed into the business, which was open at the time. No injuries were reported.
The vehicle was operated by Kohinoor Akter, a 35-year-old female of Atlantic City. There was also a 48-year-old male passenger from Atlantic City in the vehicle at the time of the accident. Neither the driver nor passenger had any reported injuries at the time of the accident.
There was significant structural damage to the building, however. City Code officials and an engineer determined the building to be unsafe. A portion of the unit block of S. Little Rock Avenue has been closed until the building can be rendered safe.
Akter received a traffic summons for careless driving.
The accident was investigated by Officer Patrick Quinn.
The Ventnor City Fire Department, Office of Emergency Management, Atlantic City Electric and South Jersey Gas assisted at the scene.
