Public comments solicited for Margate Police reaccreditation program

  • Public Safety

The Margate City Police Department is currently seeking reaccreditation from the NJ State Association of Chiefs of Police.

The accreditation program requires agencies to comply with five best practice standards areas – administration, personnel, operations, investigations and arrests and detainees.

An onsite assessment has been scheduled to verify that the department meets the professional best practice standards set by the association.

The public and department employees are invited to offer comments by calling 609-507-5414 10-11 a.m. Monday, March 24. Email comments can be sent to the police department at scullion_joseph@margate-nj.com. Telephone comments are limited to five minutes and must address the agency’s ability to comply with the NJSACOP standards.

Contact Lt. Joseph Scullion at 609-822-1151 for more information.

Anyone wishing to submit written comments about the Margate City Police Department’s ability to comply with the standards for accreditation may send them by email to Accreditation Program Director Harry J. Delgado at hdelgado@njsacop.org, or write to the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police, Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission, 751 Route 73 N., Suite 12, Marlton, NJ 08053.
