MARGATE - The Lost Shuls of Atlantic City explores the once thriving Jewish community of Absecon Island, where over two dozen synagogues stood over the past century. While a few have endured, many were short-lived in serving niche Jewish communities before fading into obscurity. These forgotten synagogues represent a unique and overlooked chapter in Atlantic City's history.
The Board of Jewish Education, Jewish Federation of Atlantic & Cape May Counties, and JFS Village By The Shore will present “Throwback Thursday Brunch & Learn: The Lost Shuls of Atlantic City” 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 22 at the Marjorie & Lewis Katz JCC, 501 N. Jerome Ave.
The program presented by Josh Cutler will highlight seven shuls that time has erased, offering a glimpse into a lost world. Whether you're a history lover, nostalgic, or curious about Atlantic City's untold stories, this program will be of interest. A complimentary bagel brunch will be served.
