Road Trips To Take With Kids In Orlando

When it comes to driving with kids, many parents dread it.

Of course, if you are taking your kids on a trip to Disney World, then chances are that the drive there is going to be pretty intense! Get prepared for a lot of “Are we there yet?”

If you want to take a road trip with kids this coming summer around Orlando (that doesn’t lead to Disney World), then you will want to make sure it is packed full of fun, as well as rest stops.

So, here, you will be walking through the road trips to take with your kids, which will be fun and create some amazing memories.

Chocolate Kingdom Factory Tour

A big one to start with is the Chocolate Kingdom Factory Tour. What kid doesn’t love chocolate?

This tour guides you through how factories turn the cocoa bean into a scrummy bar of chocolate and yes, there is even a chocolate river! Very Charlie and the Chocolate Factory! You and your kids will have the opportunity to make a chocolate bar for yourself, with the custom flavors that you enjoy.

Tours start at 11am and best of all, the factory is near Westgate and their Orlando resorts so that you can spend the night in a chocolate dream!

Florida Museum of Natural History

Do your kids love dinosaurs? What about butterflies?

Then why not take them to the Florida Museum of Natural History this summer? This is recognized as one of the US’s top museums and while it is fun to walk around, it is also good to know that all proceeds go towards research into biodiversity, conservation, and cultural heritage.

Ocala National Forest

If you want to enthrall kids who love nature, then why not take a drive to the Ocala National Forest? It is the second-largest protected forest in Florida, and it is home to over six hundred lakes, as well as a vast array of biodiversity. So, it is ideal for your little naturalist!

If you go in the summer, it is going to be hot. Not to worry! You can take your kids swimming in one of the springs, with the most popular option being the Juniper Spring.

Treasure Cove Water Park

Speaking of traveling in the summer, why not head to the Treasure Cover Water Park?

There are tons of water slides (with one reaching over sixty feet), a lazy river, and even a play area for younger kids. This is the perfect way to relax after a long hike or, if you just want a stress-free day by the pool.

Canaveral National Seashore

It wouldn’t be a summer road trip without a ride to the beach and, in Florida and Orlando, you aren’t going to be short on beaches!

Why not take a dip at the Canaveral National Seashore? This is the longest stretch of undeveloped coastline in Florida, meaning you and your kids have a higher chance of seeing wildlife and enjoying the gentle oceanic sounds. There are even ancient shell mounds, as well as barrier island habitats to explore.

So, spend some quality time with your kids this summer and go on a road trip they won’t forget any time soon.
