ATLANTIC CITY – The Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City will host its inaugural Hall of Fame celebration recognizing individuals whose leadership and service have made a lasting difference for the club and the Atlantic City community. The celebration will take place 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11 at the Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City, 317 N. Pennsylvania Ave.
The club will induct five individuals into the 2025 Hall of Fame: the late Richard Harris, Dr. Delois Campbell, Dr. Scott Fuerman,Tracy Parker, and Karen Schwab.
The late Richard Harris, who passed away at age 29, exemplified the club’s values through his compassion, service and leadership. A former Club Kid, athlete and U.S. Army veteran, Harris continued to give back each summer as a youth counselor, inspiring and mentoring countless young people.
Harris was an exceptional individual who embodied the values of the BGCAC. As a Club kid, he embraced every opportunity, making the most of his time with us. Richard was an outstanding track and field athlete and a proud graduate of Atlantic City High School (Class of 2013). His commitment to service led him to enlist in the U.S. Army. He went on to pursue his education at Rowan University, but even as a college student, he remained deeply connected to his roots. Every summer, he returned to Atlantic City to serve as a youth counselor at the club, where his compassion, energy and genuine care for others touched countless lives. His impact on the youth, his peers and the community will not be forgotten.
Campbell, a trailblazer in education and community leadership, is being honored for decades of service to BGCAC and the Atlantic City and Pleasantville School Districts. As Atlantic City’s first Black female Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and first female Executive Assistant Superintendent, she broke barriers and advanced student achievement.
Fuerman has been a dedicated supporter and longtime board member of the BGCAC, serving in various leadership roles for more than 30 years. An optometrist by profession, Dr. Fuerman became the club’s unofficial “maintenance man,” always ready to lend a hand with projects big and small.
Parker grew up at the club, where the support she received helped her discover her passion and purpose. Later as a staff member, she dedicated her career to empowering the next generation. A proud club alumna and lifelong youth advocate, she continues to inspire through her ongoing commitment to the community that shaped her.
Schwab has been volunteering at the club for more than a decade. A retired teacher and reading specialist, she works with the members at Drexel Club, helping struggling readers gain confidence.
Doors open at 4 p.m. Guests will mingle at a mixer 5-6 p.m. The evening will include a formal induction ceremony, dinner and opportunities for alumni, staff and community members to connect and celebrate the honorees’ achievements. Sponsors will also be recognized. Free parking is available on site.
