Margate man pleads guilty to weapons offenses, assault on nurse

  • Crime-Courts

A Margate man faces three years in prison Tuesday after pleading guilty to weapons offenses and an attack on a nurse.

Patrick McCline, 53, pleaded guilty before Superior Court Judge Joseph Levin to third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and fourth-degree aggravated assault on a healthcare worker.

McCline was at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City May 21, 2024, when he kicked a nurse in the chest, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.

He was released on a summons at that time.

Then, on Sept. 22, 2024, Margate police officers responded to a crisis incident involving McCline, who became agitated and threatened to harm the officers. McCline also threatened to kill one of the occupants of the residence.

Police arrested McCline, and discovered he had a knife in his waistband as well as two other additional knives hidden in a leg brace on his right leg. He is a certain person not to possess a weapon.

He is free pending sentencing March 13.
