Enjoy the holiday season in the Downbeach area by attending these special events geared toward family fun.

Ventnor

Holiday Tree and Menorah Lighting, Ventnor City Hall, 6201 Atlantic Ave., 5:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5. Fixed priced Pizza Buffet afterward at Sapore, 6501 Ventnor Ave.

Holiday Art Show and Sale, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 6-7 at the Ventnor Cultural Arts Center, 6500 Atlantic Ave. More than 20 local artists will be displaying and selling their fine works of art and crafty creations.

Twilight Holiday Parade, Ventnor Avenue from New Haven to Nashville Avenue, 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6. For information, call Shelley D’Orazio at 267-980-7632.

Sunday FunDay at Ventnor Social Arcade, 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7. Half-priced games, children’s menu, face painting, balloon creations, ice cream and more.  

Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” Progressive Porch Performance presented by the Riddlesbrood Players, on four different porches at the corner of Troy and Monmouth avenues, 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 27. The event is free to the public. Holiday music, lavish costumes of 19th century characters, humor, holiday beverages and snacks.

Margate 

Shop Small Extravaganza sponsored by MBA and Bocca Coal Fired Bistro, noon, Saturday, Nov. 29. Parade along Ventnor Avenue from Washington Avenue to Bocca, citywide sidewalk sales, crafts, giveaways and more. Guest appearances by Miss NJ Isabelle Nocholas, Santa and his friends. Music, games, activities, pizza and beverages at Bocca. Bring your letters to Santa to the North Pole mailbox at the entrance to Bocca until Dec. 5. Other activities include Shop Small Scavenger Hunt.

Margate Mothers Association Tree and Menorah Lighting and Decoration Donation at the Margate Public Library, 8100 Atlantic Ave., 5-7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7. Donate to one of the charity organizations and make a tree decoration. Program benefits Kisses for Kyle, Boys and Girls Club of Atlantic City and water.org. Hot chocolate, hot cider and snacks.

10th Annual Winter Wonderland Toy Drive Event, Sigmund Rimm Recreation Complex, parking lot off Huntington Avenue, Margate, 6-8 p.m., Friday, Dec. 12.  Train rides, food, vendors, live music, dance presentations, arts and crafts, photos with Santa, games and more. Sponsored by the Ventnor, Margate and Longport public safety groups. Bring an unwrapped toy for distribution by the Atlantic County Toys for Kids program during the holidays and throughout the year.

Longport

Holiday Tree and Menorah Lighting, in the park behind Borough Hall, 2305 Atlantic Ave., 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12. Sponsored by the Longport Public Library and the Borough of Longport. Carolers, cookies, hot chocolate, performance by the William H. Ross Elementary School Choir, and a special guest. For more information, call the library at 609-487-7403.

Winter Fest at Reed’s Farm, 5075 Spruce Ave., Egg Harbor Township, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13 – More than 25 vendors, pictures with Santa, wood fired pizzas and specialty drinks.
