The Atlantic County Library System will launch its new library software platform Monday, Oct. 20.
The new Koha/Aspen library system software will help the county realize a savings of more than $82,000 a year while providing greater access to library resources and more intuitive features for an enhanced browsing experience.
The library system will also release a new ACLS mobile app and patron catalog on its website at www.atlanticlibrary.org. The ACLS mobile app allows users to find, hold and renew books, movies and audiobooks; explore databases and digital media services; search and check out eBooks and eAudiobooks; and more.
In preparation for this transition, as of Oct. 1, patrons will temporarily be prevented from placing holds on “on-order” items in the library system’s catalog.
Additionally, all 10 branches of the library system will be closed on Saturday, Oct. 18 prior to the Oct. 20 public launch to finalize all necessary changes.
