The Margate City Board of Commissioners has scheduled a special meeting 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9 to discuss a personnel issue.
After a public personnel discussion, the commissioners will adjourn to a closed session to discuss “potential litigation involving the city and its employee and/or agents.”
The commissioners are required to hold closed sessions in compliance with the Open Public Meeting Act, which allows the governing body to exclude the public from certain discussions, such as negotiations, litigation and personnel.
Minutes of the meeting will be made public when the issue is no longer considered confidential and can become part of the public record.
The meeting will be held at Historic City Hall, 1 S. Washington Ave.
