A coastal flood warning remains in effect through 8 p.m.Monday, Oct. 13 with widespread roadway flooding expected in coastal and bayside communities.
The next high tide is at 12:17 p.m. this afternoon.
Motorists traveling in and out of Atlantic City should use the Atlantic City Expressway as both the White Horse Pike (Rt. 30) and Black Horse Pike (Rt 40) may be temporarily closed due to flooding.
Motorists are also reminded not to drive through flood waters. Water is often deeper than realized which can leave motorists stranded and can cause vehicle damage.
Residents who live in flood prone areas should move their vehicles to higher ground prior to high tide. Free parking is available at the Wave Parking Garage in Atlantic City at 2200 Fairmount Ave.
A high wind warning is also in effect from 11 a.m. this morning through 6 a.m. tomorrow morning. Northeast winds of 30-40 miles-per-hour with wind gusts up to 60 miles-per-hour may cause downed trees and power lines and difficult travel for high profile vehicles.
Atlantic City Electric is currently reporting a small number of outages but that is likely to increase throughout the day.
Residents are encouraged to avoid unnecessary travel. Report flooded roadways and non-life threatening emergencies to local emergency management offices.
