  • Community

DOWNBEACH - The AmeriHealth Atlantic City Marathon Race Series returns for another thrilling two-day event, giving participants the opportunity to test their endurance across multiple distances. This year’s races kick off with the 10K and G. Larry James 5K Saturday, Oct. 18, followed by the Marathon and Half Marathon Sunday, Oct. 19.

Founded in 1958, the AmeriHealth Atlantic City Marathon is recognized as the third-oldest marathon in the U.S. and remains a USATF Certified Boston qualifier. Known for its scenic, flat, and fast course, runners will enjoy over 8 miles along the iconic oceanfront Boardwalk, with all races starting and finishing at Michigan Avenue, directly in front of Bally’s Atlantic City Resort.

Both days of the weekend will feature live entertainment, with bands and DJs positioned along the course to keep spirits high and energy flowing. Following the races, participants can celebrate at The Yard at Bally’s, enjoying the vibrant finish line festivities, refreshments, and camaraderie with fellow runners.

Use precaution walking and biking on the Boardwalk in Atlantic City and Ventnor during the event from 8 a.m. to 1p.m., Saturday, Oct. 18.   Bikes are prohibited on the Atlantic City and Ventnor Boardwalk during Sunday’s event, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The traffic advisory shown here includes more information about area road closures and delays. All three Downbeach towns and Atlantic City will be affected.
