Halloween offers 3 times the fun in Margate

  • Community

MARGATE - Halloween offers three times the fun for the children of Margate. The Margate City Police Department and the Margate Education Foundation teamed up with other city departments to offer children and families a spectacular night of tricks, treats, fun, food and giving.

The annual event included a Boo Fest of games and hay rides at the Eugene A. Tighe School athletic field across from the school. Teachers and upperclassmen were on hand to ensure children enjoyed some Halloween fun in the sun and fresh air. Activities included spooky music, sack races, bowling games, dunk tank, guess the weight of the specially decorated pumpkins and more.

Later in the evening, families and businesses set up their trunks with fun displays on the parking lot next to the PAC. Children went trunk to trunk to gather up some treats from adults dressed in themed costumes.

Indoors, the Police Department set up their Haunted Hallway, which for a small fee raised money for good cause.

Children were asked to bring a gently used or new coat to place in the lifeboat. The coats will be distributed to those who need them.

Enjoy some photos of early evening activities.
