Families turned out in droves Sunday to participate in Halloween festivities at Ski Beach in Ventnor.
Parents went all out decorating their strollers to resemble space ships, and young ladies dressed up in their finest princess garb. One young lady spent hours decorating a hand-me-down dress with brightly colored flowers to go with her giant sombrero. Her makeup offered a perfect rendition of Dia de los Muertos, the Mexican Day of the Dead, which honors loved ones who have passed over to greener pastures.
Children were judged in various categories, including scariest, prettiest, TV and movie characters and jobs, such as policemen and firefighters. One group dressed up as members of the Ventnor City Beach Patrol with a surfer in tow.
The event included lots of fun games, vendors and food trucks offering tasty treats, all under the watchful eye of Ventnor’s finest.
Enjoy some photos and a video of the parade.
