MARGATE - The Board of Jewish Education that works to educate and inspire learners of all ages to enrich their lives, their families and the Jewish community from generation to generation, is hosting “Beyond the Bookshelf,” a series of author events based on Jewish history along with brunch.

The lecture explores the Holodomor, the devastating famine of 1932-1933 that was engineered by Stalin as a weapon against Ukraine’s independence and identity. Through historical evidence and survivor testimony, it reveals how starvation was wielded as a tool of war, leaving lasting scars on Ukrainian society. Tesler, an adjunct professor at Stockton University, has a doctorate in History from Lehigh University, specializing in Holocaust history, 20th century American urban history, Native American studies and American colonial history.
