Ventnor City welcomed three new firefighters and a police officer to the ranks of public safety most appropriately on Patriots Day.
Mayor Tim Kriebel and Commissioner administered their oaths of office during the Board of Commissioners meeting Thursday, Sept. 11. Commissioner Maria Mento swore-in Firefighter Ryan Tassone.
Families and colleagues from both departments filled the room to witness the profound occasion.
Firefighter Nicholas Guidara is a 23-year-old graduate of Temple University with a BS in Health Sciences. He is a former Eagle Scout.

Firefighter Tassone is a 35-year-old married father with three girls and a boy, ages 4- 11 years old. He is a U.S. Army veteran who served in Afghanistan.
Luke Brahmi is a 32-year-old graduate of The College of New Jersey who obtained a BS in Finance.
Kriebel also swore in Christopher Hernandez as a member of the Ventnor City Police Department. He has three years of experience as a Class I officer, followed by two years as a Class II officer in Brigantine.
