A Williamstown man is jailed after a 4-year-old girl disclosed sexual abuse to an Atlantic County school staff member.

Grant Flynn, 40, faces charges including first-degree aggravated sexual assault.

The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office and the Division of Child Protection and Permanency were called after the staff member reported it to State Police, according to the affidavit of probable cause obtained by BreakingAC.

The affidavit does not name the school, but the charges list Buena Vista as the location of the crimes.

The girl detailed multiple instances of abuse that included Flynn allegedly instructing her on how to perform sexual acts on him.

Flynn “told her mommy can never know,” the affidavit states.

When questioned, Flynn waived his Miranda rights and told investigators “that the reason for the interview must be because of ‘private parts’ with (the victim),” the affidavit states.

He then said he did not wish to answer any more questions because he did not want to incriminate himself.

DCPP then spoke with all the adults involved, and “provided a safety protection plan for the juveniles in the home,” with all adults signing it, according to the affidavit.

It was not clear how many children and adults were in the home, or Flynn’s relationship to the girl.

But after the DCPP plan was signed, the agency notified troopers that Flynn “spontaneously confessed to the crime disclosed by (the girl),” and wanted to speak about the incident.

He again waived his right to an attorney, and admitted that the girl “masturbated him” three times over the course of the summer.

“He further stated he believed he was educating her on private parts and sex,” the affidavit states.

Flynn also admitted to showing the girl pictures and videos of sexual acts he found through Bing searches online.

“He also confirmed he told her that she couldn’t tell her mom or that she would never see him again,” the affidavit states.

Flynn was arrested and has been in the Atlantic County Justice Facility since Tuesday.

During a detention hearing Friday, his public defender said Flynn consented to detention with the option of reopening the hearing.
