Katz JCC to host annual Active Adult and Senior Expo

MARGATE – The Marjorie and Lewis Katz JCC, 501 N. Jerome Ave., will host its annual Active Adult and Senior Expo, 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25 and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26. The event featuring health, wellness and active adult lifestyles for those over age 55 is free and open to the public.

With a renewed focus on active aging, this year’s event aims to provide more than just essential health screenings and adds opportunities for fitness, beauty, food and fun into the mix.

“This year’s Expo will continue to offer essential health services for seniors throughout Atlantic County, but we’re also excited to expand the experience for active adults,” said Bridget Giblin, Katz JCC Adult & Community program director. “In addition to flu shots, screenings and educational resources, we’ll feature healthy cooking and fitness demonstrations, wine tastings, and a variety of vendors focused on beauty, wellness, and lifestyle - creating a lively and engaging event for everyone.”

Highlights include:

• Vaccinations and screenings. Attendees will have access to several vaccines, including flu, updated COVID 19 vaccine, RSV, pneumonia, shingles, TDAP, and Hepatitis A/B. (Bring your insurance card for vaccines)
• Fitness and healthy living demonstrations. Interactive sessions include fitness and movement demos, healthy cooking presentations and wine tastings.
• Red Cross Blood Drive. A chance to give back while attending the event.
• Exhibitor booths and community resources. Explore a wide range of vendors offering services for both seniors and active adults, from healthcare to home improvement to beauty and beyond.
• Giveaways and refreshments. Enjoy complimentary snacks, raffles, and fun surprises throughout both days.
