Engine 22 arrived on scene and confirmed that a high pressure gas main was struck and actively leaking.  As a precautionary measure a 2.5-inch hose line was stretched, charged and placed near the leak for the protection of fire personnel and crews working in the area.

South Jersey Gas arrived on scene to control and repair the leak.

Fire crews remained on scene until 11:08 a.m. when they were cleared by gas company representatives and the area deemed safe.
