After decades of war, upheaval, and frustration in the Middle East, some argue the U.S. should step back and Cook challenges that assumption. Drawing on over 75 years of history, he argues that while America made mistakes, it has largely succeeded in protecting interests in the region. In this timely and wide-ranging conversation, Cook will explore what went wrong, lessons learned and what a more disciplined and realistic American strategy in the Middle East should look like today.
