MARGATE — The Board of Jewish Education of Atlantic and Cape May Counties (Bis inviting Jewish teens to participate in Teens for Tikkun Olam, a community service initiative offering hands-on volunteer opportunities rooted in Jewish values.
Designed for Jewish teens in grades 8–12 living in Atlantic or Cape May County, the program provides participants with the opportunity to earn community service hours while supporting younger children and families through interactive Jewish programming.
Two upcoming volunteer opportunities will take place at the Marjorie & Lewis Katz Jewish Community Center, 501 N. Jerome Ave.
Teen volunteers are needed 4-7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27 to assist with Aloha Purim, a tropical themed Shabbat and Purim celebration. Volunteers will help make and bake hamantaschen, read stories to young children, and assist with crafts and games. The program offers teens three community service hours.
A second opportunity will be held 4-7 p.m. Friday, March 27 during the “Sing It, Mix It & Share It” Passover program. Teen volunteers will assist with a “cold cooking” activity, read stories to young children, and help with activities and games. The program also offers three community service hours.
