Fiery vehicle crash sets marsh ablaze in Pleasantville

  • Breaking

A vehicle crash in Pleasantville sparked a fire that burned a section of marsh Saturday night.

The driver lost control and hit a pole on Delilah Road in front of Club Paradise just after 9 p.m., Fire Chief Keven Vanegas told BreakingAC.

The vehicle caught fire.

Egg Harbor Township K-9 Officer William Burns pulled the sole occupant out of the car.

The severity of the driver's injuries were not known. No name was released.

The car fire spread to the marsh due to the high winds, Vanegas said.

"Our crews aggressively extinguished the fire," he said.

Battalion 4 was on with Battalion Chief Marc Raymond commanding the scene.

The fire burned a 75-by-75-foot section of marsh, Vanegas sad.
