The Borough of Longport and the City of Ventnor will host public meetings to discuss their pending lead water service line replacement projects.
Communities across the country are mandated to replace any lead or galvanized steel water service lines over the next 10 years to eliminate the health risks associated with lead in adults and especially children.
The borough will hold a dinner meeting and talk for residents only 4:30 p.m. Monday, March 16 in Commission Chambers at Borough Hall, 2305 Atlantic Ave. Residents are asked to register in advance by calling the Longport Public Library at 609-487-7403.

During the meeting, public officials and city professionals will discuss how to identify lead service lines, self-reporting, why removal is necessary, timelines for replacement and about the process of getting the lines replaced.
