Visit Atlantic City today announced a new collaboration designed to elevate Atlantic City’s live entertainment offerings while driving visitation, economic impact and long-term growth for the coastal destination. As part of the new initiative, Visit Atlantic City is reinforcing Atlantic City’s position as a premier East Coast hub for concerts and live events, by working with Live Nation to help bring more entertainment opportunities to the region.
"Live entertainment has always been a cornerstone of the Atlantic City experience,” said Gary Musich, president and CEO of Visit Atlantic City. “With the help of Live Nation and collaboration with our partners, we’ll be able to attract a wide array of world-class performers, energize our tourism economy and continue delivering experiences that resonate with visitors year-round.”
“With close proximity to Philadelphia, New York City, Baltimore, and Washington, DC, Atlantic City is a great live entertainment destination,” Musich continued. “With multiple entertainment options, and our desire to bring more shows to Atlantic City, we have the ability to attract more concert-goers and maintain our focus of keeping Atlantic City a year-round destination.”
Visit Atlantic City hopes to build on recent momentum at historic Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall, where Live Nation-supported concerts have drawn national attention and packed crowds. Recent performances included Rock & Roll Hall of Famers Stevie Nicks and The Who, hip-hop powerhouse Lil Wayne, the queen of hip-hop soul Mary J. Blige, and more. Visit Atlantic City, with the help of Live Nation, is also looking to bring back the popular Atlantic City Beach concerts.
"Visit Atlantic City's partnership with Live Nation showcases the power of strategic collaboration to transform Atlantic City's entertainment landscape. By empowering our destination marketing organization to negotiate these industry partnerships, we're creating a framework that attracts world-class talent and delivers measurable economic returns,” said Eric Scheffler, executive director of the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority. “I want to thank our CRDA board for their vision and leadership in making this collaboration possible. This is the foundation for something bigger as Atlantic City reclaims its position as an entertainment capital."
The partnership brings together Visit Atlantic City’s destination marketing expertise with Live Nation’s global reach and entertainment industry connections, to further reinforce Atlantic City’s position as a premier East Coast hub for concerts and live events.
“Whether it be live events at Boardwalk Hall, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, or even right on the beach, we’ve had tremendous success delivering unparalleled experiences in Atlantic City over the years” said Molly Warren, senior vice president of Booking at Live Nation. “We’re excited to partner with Visit Atlantic City to bring more great shows and unforgettable moments that give people new reasons to visit and enjoy the region."
Beyond headline-making performances, the partnership is designed to deliver measurable economic impact, including increased hotel stays, dining and retail spendings. Visit Atlantic City, with the help of Live Nation, looks to continue to focus on attracting top-tier talent, expanding programming across seasons, and strengthening Atlantic City’s position as a must visit destination for live entertainment lovers.
