Brigantine police want help finding armed suspect and stolen gun

  • Crime-Courts

Brigantine police are looking for help seeking an armed suspect seen at a New Year's party with about 100 teens.

Police were called to the home in the 900 block of North Shore Drive at about 12:10 a.m. Thursday for a male with a gun, according to the report.

When police arrived, the teens fled in different directions, the report states.

The suspect is described as a tall male with a medium build dressed all in black, including a black cap and mask.

No other details were available.

During the investigation, police discovered a handgun was stolen from the residence, according to the report.

While police were investigating, they learned that a handgun had been stolen from inside the residence. Witness descriptions indicate it is a different weapon than the one the suspect was seen holding.

Anyone who was at the party is asked to come forward with any information that may help the investigation.

Police also are asking for anyone who may have video in the areas of North Shore Drive, Vardon Road, Sarazen Road or surrounding streets to check for pertinent footage.

Detectives have been canvassing the area looking for homes that have surveillance cameras, and will be reaching out to homeowners.
