VENTNOR - The city has implemented a new CodeRED Notification System to alert residents and visitors of important emergency-related information.
CodeRED is a nationwide emergency alert system that delivers real-time updates about severe weather, missing persons, road closures, and water and sewer emergencies when they happen.
The emergency notification system is intended to keep residents safe in the event of an emergency. Alerts are sent by the city’s public safety agencies in the method residents request, including telephone, cell phone, SMS, email, social media and more. Special event information is not included as part of the emergency notification system.
The new system took effect in early January. All those who subscribed previously, must re-register to receive notifications. Signing up is quick, free and easy.
