MARGATE – The Holtzman Gallery at the Marjorie and Lewis Katz JCC, 501 N. Jerome Ave., will “Honor the Past, Inspire the Future” during its annual Black History Month art exhibition, Feb. 6 through March 5.
A special Meet the Artists reception will be held 5:30-9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, and feature remarks by Atlantic City Councilman Kaleem Shabazz and other special guests. Music, complimentary light fare, wine and beverages will be available.
The exhibition features works by artists E.B. Lewis, Kimberly Camp, Jose Sebourne, Natasha Davis, John Morris and Valeria Marcus, all of whom reside in Atlantic City, Collingswood, Folsom and Philadelphia.
“It not only pays respect to Black history but also celebrates the creative innovations of the future,” gallery owner David Holtzman said.
The goal of the exhibition is to continue motivating the next generation of creative artistic innovators, he said.
This event is free and open to the public.
All fine art on display available for acquisition, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Katz JCC.
