MAYS LANDING – Atlantic County Clerk Joe Giralo announced today he will seek reelection in November.
Giralo, who was elected to the post in 2021, plans to seek the Republican nomination at the Atlantic County Republican Convention in February.
In a press release, Giralo said he has overseen a comprehensive turnaround of the Atlantic County Clerk’s Office, elevating operations to a “gold standard” for constituent services.
"Since taking office, we have processed more than $120 million in real estate transfer fees, recorded over 200,000 documents, and officiated more than 700 marriages," Giralo said. "Under my leadership, our team of 20 professionals delivers the broadest range of services and interacts with more Atlantic County residents each year than any other county office."
In addition to its fiduciary responsibilities, the Clerk's Office has processed more than 10,000 passports and overseen 15 elections. The administration of elections has been regarded as efficient, fair and professional throughout his tenure, the release states.
"Our office isn't blue and it isn't red - we're purple," Giralo said. "We serve Democrats, Republicans and independents alike with the same commitment to fairness, accuracy and service. I'm a County Clerk who works for the people, not for politics."
He said he will run a well-funded campaign focused on experience, performance and results.
"Since entering public service at age 18, I've dedicated my life to serving others," he said. "I'm proud of the work we've done, and I look forward to sharing my story in every community across Atlantic County."
Giralo, a resident of Hammonton, has received support from several prominent Atlantic County leaders and additional endorsements are expected in the coming weeks, he said.
