The Herb Stern Longport Scholarship Fund recently announced it will award up to $25,000 in scholarships in 2026. Longport residents who graduate high school this year or are currently attending college, university or graduate school are eligible to apply for scholarship awards.

Recipients are selected are based on academic performance, extracurricular activities, work experience, essays and financial need. Awards will be announced in April at a Longport Commission meeting.
The application form is available on the fund’s website, longportscholarshipfund.com. The students must download the form, fill it in and email it as directed, along with the required supporting documentation, by the deadline on April 1.
Award amounts have increased over the 15 years of operation, with a grand total of over $240,000 granted so far. The fund is supported by Longport year-round and seasonal residents and friends of Longport.
