Unsurprisingly, it appears that the Dallas Goedert Era in Philadelphia is over.
Matthew Berry of NBC Sports reported as much in the aftermath of the NFL Combine:
"While many of the Eagles headlines these days are about whether A.J. Brown will stay or go, one player I’m told that will definitely be moving on from Philly this offseason is Dallas Goedert."
Berry is known first and foremost as a fantasy expert, but he's expanded what he does since joining NBC in 2022. Let's face it, there's a lot of people in and around the sport that play fantasy football and are probably excited to talk to Berry. And as he starts to plan his fantasy rankings for 2026, it's part of his job to understand where there will be personnel changes around the league.
Additionally, what Berry is reporting here checks out. Goedert took a $4.25 million pay cut to return to remain with the Eagles last season, playing for $10 million. That extended the relationship for another year, and Goedert caught a career-high 11 touchdown passes, while hauling in 60 receptions for 591 yards.
Now 31, Goedert will look for a new team after spending his first eight seasons with the Eagles. A second-round pick out of South Dakota St. in 2018, Goedert has accumulated 4,676 receiving yards and 35 touchdowns in eight campaigns in Philadelphia.
Assuming the Eagles let Goedert depart in free agency, tight end will become one of the top areas of need in April's NFL Draft. Oregon's Kenyon Sadiq is the top-ranked tight end in this year's class, but it's unclear if he'll still be available when the Eagles are on the clock at No. 23, with NFL Media's Daniel Jeremiah ranking him as the 16th-best prospect overall in the 2026 class.
