An Ocean County College dean is accused paying a Pleasantville juvenile for sex.
James Hadley, 65, of Barnegat, was arrested last week, as he tried to enter the boy's residence with lubricant and $200, according to the affidavit of probable cause obtained by BreakingAC.
The money seems to match previous messages in which Hadley referenced paying the teen $200 in previous encounters, the affidavit states.
The were at least two prior encounters in which Hadley paid the juvenile for sex, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.
The victim's mother found messages and explicit photographs on his phone and went to police Thursday, according to the affidavit.
Hadley, who also is an adjunct professor at Kean University, is charged with second-degree counts of luring a minor and sexual assault, third-degree endangering the welfare of a child by sexual conduct and fourth-degree criminal sexual contact.
He allegedly communicated with the teen through Zangi, which advertises its encrypted app as anonymity with no phone number required.
But at some point, Hadley was no longer messaging with the victim, according to the affidavits.
"During the investigation, conversations with the accused were taken over by law enforcement detectives" from Pleasantville and the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office, the report states.
Warning that the following texts could be disturbing to some readers.
"Legally in New Jersey you must be 16 to consent," Hadley wrote at one point, according to the affidavit.
The teen is younger than that, according to the charges.
"Other than our quick attempt the other day, I have never been f-----," Hadley wrote. "OK, I can't wait to see your beautiful body completely naked."
Hadley has worked at Ocean County College since February 2019, according to his LinkedIn.
He recently became dean of their School of Business and Social Sciences, he announced January, via a LinkedIn post.
