MARGATE - The Sephardic Foundation on Aging has awarded a $60,000 grant for Jewish Family Service of Atlantic & Cape May Counties to assist aging adults, including Holocaust survivors who reside in the region, with programs and services available through the agency’s Lynn Kramer Village by the Shore.
“For nearly four years, The Sephardic Foundation on Aging has been an ardent supporter of our Village’s programs and services, which are aligned to assist older adults in maintaining independence and quality of life,” JFS CEO Andrea Steinberg said. “We are deeply grateful for their continued partnership and commitment to improving the quality of life for the seniors we serve.”
As community members age, they face concerns and questions around end-of-life planning and care, which are often complex and very personal. The JFS team of Village Care Coordinators is committed to providing one-on-one support around these matters. If a family member lives far away, the care coordinator will serve as an advocate to address financial, healthcare, benefits, and legal matters, while maintaining regular communication with the older adult’s relative.
Additionally, the Village provides a host of services including transportation, grocery shopping, and friendly visits as well as virtual and in-person social programs which help foster community and reduce isolation.
