Our Lady Star of the Sea students expand their horizons through music

  • Education

ATLANTIC CITY - Music fills the halls at Our Lady Star of the Sea School in Atlantic City, thanks to a collaborative arts grant from the Schultz-Hill and OceanFirst foundations. Together, the foundations are expanding access to music education by supporting the school’s student band program.

The initiative reflects the Schultz-Hill Foundation’s ongoing commitment to bringing arts and educational enrichment opportunities to young people throughout the region, especially programs that inspire creativity, confidence and connection.

“This year, 27 students have had the opportunity to participate in band – a gift that would not be possible without supporters like you,” said Kimberly Shea, director of Advancement, Admission and Social Media at Our Lady Star of the Sea. “Through music, our children are learning far more than how to play an instrument. They are developing discipline, confidence, patience and teamwork. Music provides them with a creative outlet, nurtures their minds and brings a sense of joy and accomplishment that carries into all areas of their lives.”

The donation was further strengthened by contributions from families and community donors, underscoring a shared commitment to arts education and student growth.

“Your support gives them the chance to discover their talents, express themselves, and be part of something beautiful,” she added. “You are helping to plant seeds that will last a lifetime.”
