Boys & girls Club installs new board members

ATLANTIC CITY - The Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City has named Donna Michael-Ziereis as its new board chair and welcomed five new community leaders to its Board of Directors, strengthening the organization’s leadership as it continues expanding opportunities for young people across the city.


Michael-Ziereis, formerly board secretary and governance chair, is executive vice president of Administration and chief legal officer for AtlantiCare health system. In that capacity, she leads teams across multiple disciplines, encompassing legal operations, compliance, supply chain, IT and emergency medical services. She brings a strong commitment to community service, particularly in support of healthcare and education initiatives.


Joining the board are Dr. Blair Bergen, Wendy Bartlett, Matthew Capone, Debbie Martone, and Michele Myers Reid.


   Blaire A. Bergen, MD
 
 

Dr. Bergen is a physician with AtlantiCare Physician Group, specializing in obstetrics and gynecology. He earned his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey’s New Jersey Medical School, where he also completed his internship and residency. He is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American College of Surgeons. He also serves as chair of the Public Education and Awareness Subcommittee of the New Jersey Advisory Council on Black Infant Mortality, reflecting his commitment to improving maternal and infant health outcomes.


    Wendy Bartlett
 
 

Bartlett is senior vice president at Fulton Bank, where she brings decades of experience in commercial banking and credit management. Since joining the bank in 2008 as a commercial relationship manager, she has advanced through leadership roles including team leader and middle market senior relationship manager. Bartlett is active in numerous civic and educational organizations, including the Atlantic County Improvement Authority, the Metropolitan Business and Citizens Association, the Atlantic County Economic Alliance Executive Committee, the Atlantic Cape Community College Foundation Board, the Stockton University Women’s Leadership Council, the City of Ventnor Planning and Zoning Board, and several community development corporations. She holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Stockton University and an MBA in finance from Rutgers University.


    Matthew Capone
 
 

Capone is senior manager of Construction and Maintenance for Atlantic City Electric, where he oversees electric distribution, infrastructure upgrades, and outage response across the company’s western districts. His career began in power generation and has included leadership roles in nuclear energy, engineering, operations, and maintenance. Capone brings to the board extensive expertise in safety systems, regulatory compliance, and infrastructure reliability. In addition to supporting the club, he has been active in community service efforts including volunteering with the Community FoodBank of New Jersey.



    Debbie Martone
 
 

Martone is executive director of Human Resources at Resorts Casino Hotel. She brings over two decades of experience across the hospitality and private equity sectors, including leadership roles with Trump Entertainment Resorts and Atlantic City Linen Supply/Purestar LLC, where she served as Senior Director of Human Resources for the Continental U.S. Martone has also served as Vice President of Human Resources for multiple organizations, building and leading high-performing HR teams. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Rutgers University and brings a well-rounded, strategic approach to talent development and organizational leadership.


    Michele Myers Reid

Myers Reid is regional manager of Talent Development and Philanthropy for Caesars Entertainment in Atlantic City. In this role, she partners with leadership to design training and development programs that strengthen service, finance, leadership, and team performance while also overseeing regional community relations and philanthropic giving. Myers Reid holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Stockton University and a master’s degree in education from Pennsylvania State University. She also serves as an adjunct faculty member in Stockton’s Hospitality, Tourism and Event Management program. Earlier in her career, she worked at Vanguard Group, where she developed diversity and leadership curricula. She holds Senior Professional in Human Resources certification as well as Myers-Briggs credentials.
