ATLANTIC CITY - The 29th annual East Coast Gaming Congress announces that former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will be a speaker at its upcoming event, joining American Gaming Association President and CEO Bill Miller to discuss challenges facing the gaming industry. Such challenges include the potential impacts of predictions markets on both online and land-based gaming operations.
ECGC 29.0 features New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill, who will deliver the marquee keynote address during the conference’s awards program. ECGC, the longest-running gaming conference in the United States, will be held April 14-15 at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City. The overall conference theme is “Gaming in Transition.”
Now a strategic advisor to the AGA, Christie served two terms as governor, during which he played a decisive role in the landmark US Supreme Court case, Murphy v. NCAA, effectively ending the federal prohibition on state-authorized sports betting.
“Gov. Christie is a longstanding leader in gaming in New Jersey and around the world,” said conference co-founder and Senior Policy Advisor to Spectrum Gaming Group Michael Pollock. “Together, he and Bill Miller will offer perspectives that are critical to shaping the future of gaming and the states and communities that depend on this industry.”
“Hosting former Gov. Christie, along with several CEO speakers, advances and underscores a goal we established decades ago: Build a conference on the foundation of leaders speaking to leaders,” conference co-founder and CEO of Cooper Levenson Lloyd D. Levenson said.
Since its inception, ECGC has hosted eight governors and scores of CEOs, lawmakers, regulators and other industry leaders. The entire 2026 ECGC program will tackle key issues including artificial intelligence, prediction markets, iGaming expansion, and the anticipated impact following the development of full-service casino resorts in the Downstate New York market.
ECGC will also present its Lifetime Achievement Award to the Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers in recognition of its longstanding commitment to the integrity and principles of gaming licensure.
The 2026 conference will again offer premier opportunities for sponsorship, networking, professional development, and high-level business-to-business engagement.
