Margate's Funfest by the Bay not a total washout

  • Margate

MARGATE - The two-day festival that celebrates fall and the Amherst Avenue waterfront, was not a total washout last weekend. Thousands enjoyed great fall weather on Saturday, Sept. 22 and visited Margate Business Association's annual Funfest by the Bay. Revelers enjoyed music on two stages, activities, great food, amusements, fine arts and crafts, retailers, information booths, Miss New Jersey and more.

Mas Tequila Orchestra kept the party going at Funfest After Dark, an evening of dancing and a wine, beer and spirit tasting on the Margate Pier. The Food Bank provided delicious finger foods.

The rain on Sunday drew a smaller crowd and to the disappointment of many pet lovers forced the cancellation of Steve & Cookies By the Bay's 22nd annual Dog Show.

The event was sponsored by Tomatoe's, Maynard's Cafe, 100.7 WZXL and the MBA.
