VENTNOR A Mays Landing boy was arrested Sunday, Dec. 15 for having an imitation firearm.
According to a release from Public Information Officer Capt. Joe Fussner, a Nashville Avenue resident called police at 1:27 p.m. to report suspicious activity. A male juvenile knocked on the door of his home and asked for money, the caller said. The caller provided a detailed description of the suspect and a short time later Sgt. Bryan Gaviria located the male on the 5200-block of Ventnor Avenue.
An investigation revealed the 15-year-old male was in possession of an imitation firearm, police said.
The boy, who was not identified because of his age, was taken into custody and charged with possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose and various city ordinance violations.
He was lodged in Harborfields Detention Center pending court proceedings.
