48 Blocks AC mural by Denton Burrows.
ATLANTIC CITY - The fourth annual '48 Blocks Atlantic City' celebration, originally scheduled for this weekend, will instead be a virtual event Aug. 7-9.
48 Blocks Atlantic City is a 48-hour celebration of the arts and culture that encompasses the city's 48 blocks.
Joyce Hagen, executive director of the Arts Foundation, said she is disappointed the foundation cannot hold a live event this year, but the safety of the community comes first.
We encourage visitors to do a drive-by of our murals and join us for the virtual events on Aug. 7-9, she said.
Artists are still working on new murals and painted Adirondack chairs. The public can go to the Atlantic City Arts Foundation website, www.atlanticcityartsfoundation.org to get a map that shows the location of all existing 50 murals in the city.
The Atlantic City Arts Foundation partners with Stockton University on the 48 Blocks program. The ACAF is funded in part by the NJ State Council on the Arts, a partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts.
