The ACUA is accepting registrations for the the Rutgers Environmental Stewards program.
Are you concerned about the environment? Would you like to have a positive impact on your community but don't know how? Consider the Rutgers Environmental Steward Program.
The Rutgers Environmental Steward program is designed to introduce non-scientists to the science behind important environmental issues affecting New Jersey. Stewards then give back to their own communities by helping to tackle local environmental problems. All that's needed is a passion for the environment, a desire to learn and a willingness to volunteer.
There will be one statewide class for 2021. Current university guidelines restricts all in-person activity due to COVID-19, but the program may include some field sessions in the spring if these restrictions are lifted.
To become a Certified Environmental Steward, participants must complete a 60-hour internship of their choosing. The internship exposes the stewards to real-world environmental issues in their communities.
