Atlantic Cape seeks input on how to improve Atlantic City Inlet area

  • Downbeach

ATLANTIC CITY - All are welcome to share their ideas and input on how to improve the Inlet neighborhood of Atlantic City during a public meeting 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 8 at the Uptown School Complex. The purpose of the meeting, hosted by the Inlet Neighborhood Community Advisory Committee in conjunction with the 1st Ward Civic Association and Atlantic Cape Community College, is to solicit feedback, connect and collaborate on the Inlet Neighborhood Action Strategy.

To review the draft Strategy, visit atlantic.edu/inlet.

In 2021, Atlantic Cape was awarded a Neighborhood Revitalization Tax Credit Planning grant by the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs to develop a community driven neighborhood revitalization plan for the Inlet neighborhood in Atlantic City. It is anticipated that a future NRTC designation will generate funds to provide services in the neighborhood, including housing and amenities for all residents.

The Inlet neighborhood is home to a diverse group of 5,800 residents, and is filled with numerous community assets, landmarks, active organizations, as well as local businesses along the Absecon Inlet.

The Inlet includes Ocean Casino Resort, Historic Gardner's Basin, The Cove condominium, Ocean Terrace apartments, Uptown School Complex, Flagship Resort, Jeffries Towers apartments, and other housing.
