Longport Police charge Ventnor woman with theft of cash, credit cards from Borough Hall

LONGPORT Police have charged a Ventnor woman with the alleged theft of cash and credit cards while she was cleaning at Longport Borough Hall.

According to a release, police captured surveillance video the evening of March 29 of Francesca Gangotena, 29, of Ventnor, stealing cash and credit cards while she was cleaning the building. She was arrested the next day and charged with three counts of theft and three counts of fraudulent use of credit cards.

Gangotena was charged with an additional three counts of credit card theft, as the investigation revealed that she had also stolen credit card information from borough employees, police said.

She was charged and released on a summons pending court. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending.
