Atlantic City Police Sgt. Jeff Rivera
ATLANTIC CITY - The Atlantic City Police Foundation and Atlantic City PBA #25 will host its first-ever golf outing Wednesday, May 17 at McCullough's Emerald Golf Links, 3016 Ocean Heights Ave., in Egg Harbor Township.
The event benefits the Atlantic City Police Foundation and the Atlantic City PBA #24, which raises funds for programs, training and equipment, and advocacy for the interests of its members and their families in time of need.
This year, the event will support Sgt. Jeff Rivera's fight against Stage 4 stomach cancer. Rivera, a 15-year veteran of the police force, who has served the community and city well, has served in numerous roles, including as an undercover narcotics officer and youth mentor. He is the sole support for his wife, Lisbet, and their four children, ages 7-22. Proceeds of the fundraiser will help ease the family's financial burdens and offset the cost of medical care, housing, food and other expenses.
Registration and breakfast is at 8 a.m. followed by a 9 a.m. shotgun start. Lunch and awards will be held at 2 p.m.
Player fee is $160 per golfer, $600 per foursome. Tickets are $60 to attend the luncheon only. Sponsorships are also available.
