Learn how to worm your way to composting at the Noyes Arts Garage

  • Downbeach

ATLANTIC CITY - Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Atlantic County will hold a free gardening workshop for the whole family 1 p.m. Sunday, May 21 at the Noyes Arts Garage of Stockton University, 2200 Fairmount Ave.

The educational program will provide information about vermicomposting, a composting method that uses worms to transform food scraps into natural fertilizers.

The workshop is ideal for small space gardeners and families looking for a hands-on gardening activity.

The Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Atlantic County offers gardening programs at the Arts Garage each month on Sunday afternoons. All levels of gardening experience are welcome to join Rutgers Master Gardeners who will answer related gardening questions.

The Noyes Arts Garage of Stockton University created the Ducktown Community Garden in an underutilized plot outside the building in the spring of 2021. Since then, Noyes staff, interns and volunteers have maintained the garden to produce free vegetables, herbs and flowers for the neighborhood from May through November.

Subsidized parking is available in the WAVE Garage for $4 cash.
