Margate's Thrilling Thursdays starts this week

Free movies on the beach is a feature of Margate's Thrilling Thursdays.

MARGATE - The Margate Business Association will present Thrilling Thursdays each week starting July 6 and ending Aug. 31.

Thrilling Thursdays features events all day long starting with the Margate Community Farmers Market at Steve & Cookies By The Bay. Beach access is free on Thursdays and beach tags are not required. There's real action in the city's commercial districts with sidewalk sales and great deals on clothing, merchandise and meals.

Thrilling Thursdays caps the day with Sunset Cinema on the beach behind the Bloom Pavilion between Granville and Huntington avenues. Arrive at 6:30 p.m. for pre-screening activities and giveaways, great for children of all ages. Movies begin at 7 p.m. Rain dates are Fridays (no rain date for Aug. 3).

  • July 6 - "Minions: The Rise of Gru," Margate Dairy Bar & Burger giveaways, Duck-a-palooza games

  • July 13 - "Top Gun" Maverick," Cornhole, Wawa giveaways

  • July 20 - "Puss in Boots: The Last Wish," Lucy the Elephant, crafts for kids

  • Aug. 3 - "Lilo & Stitch," Cornhole, Wawa giveaways (no raindate)

  • Aug. 10 - "Jaws," Duck-a-palooza games

  • Aug. 17 - "Super Mario Bros. Movie," Cornhold, Wawa giveaways

  • Aug. 24 - "Lightyear," Sustainable Downbeach, Telescope night

  • Aug. 31 - "Hotel Transylvania 4," Wiffleball Home Run Derby
